A recent study in France showed that children with asthma who use MAGNESIUM as a supplement used their inhalers less often for asthma symptoms which supports the theory that magnesium helps to support the relaxation of airways. I generally recommend approximately 400mg/day of magnesium, however please keep mind that magnesium also stimulates the bowels so do not take too much as it may cause irregularity or cramping. Magnesium is also known as a mineral which helps with metabolism and mood, in fact we believe people who are magnesium deficient may have more mood swings and feelings of depression.
