Potassium

Happy Thursday and Greetings from Tel Aviv!
I just flew from the southern tip of Israel . I was in a town called Eilat where you could see Saudia Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt from the hotel room! Incredible.
On the plane ride, I flew over the "Dead Sea" which is a very salty body of water. The Dead Sea is especially rich in Magnesium and Potassium.
For the nutrition tip of the day, make sure you have sufficient potassium in your diet. To grow food, most companies use fertilizer, and fertilizer must contain three elements: Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium. For good potassium, companies turn to natural sources such as the Dead Sea to collect large amount of potassium (and magnesium) so that they can provide these minerals to farmers to grow food. In turn, the food we eat not only grows in a healthy way, but its rich in the nutrients we need in the body.
Potassium is an important "Electrolyte" in the body with Sodium and Chloride which helps to regulate metabolism and cell function.
so the next time you reach for some fresh fruits and vegetables, think of potassium and the importance of this nutrient in food.
Wishing you the best of health!
Tomorrow, On to Cyprus!!!
