The first Sauna was discovered around the 5th or 6th century in Finland and the technique has been perfected since.
The sauna has many benefits besides the social aspect of sitting together and talking, and the stress reduction while relaxing.
Sauna may provide some relief to patients with asthma and chronic bronchitis, and may also alleviate pain and improve joint mobility in patients with rheumatic disease. The sauna does not cause drying of the skin, and may even benefit patients with psoriasis, although sweating may increase itching in patients with atopic dermatitis.
For the nutrition tip of the day, try some form of relaxation to help control stress like a sauna and feel the wonderful benefits. Or just visit Finland and the locals will take good care of you.
